On September 12, 2026, the African Women Alliance proudly hosted the 2026 African Heritage Festival, bringing children and adults together for an immersive celebration of African culture, creativity, and hands-on learning.
The day was anchored by interactive cultural workshops, each capped at 10 participants to ensure an engaging, personalized experience:
* Painting: Discovering vibrant visual art techniques and cultural motifs.
* Braiding: Learning intricate hair-braiding styles and their historical traditions.
* Cooking: Experiencing traditional flavors and culinary practices hands-on.
* Fashion Show: Engaging in rhythmic movement, music, and dance expression.
The celebration peaked at the Cultural Showcase, which welcomed 150 attendees (including 100 children and 50 adults). The incredible turnout created a warm, family-friendly atmosphere where generations could celebrate side by side.
